Lessons in Acton

This is what you get when you give two little rascals your camera.

This is our friend Reiko about to take a lesson when we were down in Acton the other day.

You also might actually get a picture of you and your husband together when the
kids get ahold of the camera. I got to ride my Poco. Isn't she purty?!

Sage too this picture. When I saw it I thought, wow that is good. I should enter it in the fair or something. But what do I know about photography and if the judges didn't like it it would be real ackward when I beat them up!

Our friends that hosted the lessons at their ranch were so kind and thoughtful to make us dinner since they know we go everywhere with the kids in tow. So we were all taken care of and all we had to do was drive home when he was done. This is the view from their porch while me and the kids were eating dinner and Jeremy was still working.

Bits of this and that oh and an update on Jeremy......

This, my friends is a little friend that has made a nest in this cute birdhouse that hangs on my porch. I frequentley sit on the porch watching the kids play and was amazed to see this little guy er girl come in and drop off bugs one day. If you look close you can see the bug in her mouth. Sad thing is I think she kicked them out of the nest yesterday and the cat got one. I was able to get it away from the cat without harm and place it back in the nest only to find it drowned in the pool today. I swear, that is the way it has been around here lately.
You all better know who this is!!! She is almost 12 weeks now and I couldn't love her more! I was gone the other day and Jeremy said he had to put her up cause she wouldn't listen to him. Ahhhhh the day! His dogs never listen to me!

Oh and I guess you all would like a Jeremy update! He is doing well. He has not even so much as tried to move the joint yet so no telling how successful it will be but he is managing his pain with his meds and trying to stay out of trouble. There is not much he can do but hang around the house and let it heal now. He returns to the doctor on the 20th of July for a follow-up. He did tell me after the surgery there was alot of damage in there (um, hello! I could have told them that!) and some bone chips floating around that he removed. He mentioned it is similar to sewing frayed fabric so it is very important he lets it heal for at least 3 months.
HE HAS TO BE VERY CAREFUL!
Lets hope he can listen and do what he needs to without going crazy! Thank you so much to all of our wonderful friends and family for all the the many ways you have been supportive. We love you all very much!

Our 4th of July in pictures

This is Steele and his cousin, Scotty.

The men, checking out the new truck. They had not seen it yet. Starting from the left is Jeremy's brother, Dakota. His stepdad, Jim. His uncle, Shawn. Our Pauly Wally. (Sorry Paul, Sage made me wrie that!) And Jeremy leaning on the beast.

My girl at the Bad Bulls , bull riding eating cheese popcorn. I think I caught her offguard, what do you think?!

Steele asking Daddy why they aren't riding any of them. Jeremy said, yes they were and he promptlysays very matter of factly "No they aren't"
I hope he doesn't have any plans of showing them up!

Some more lake pics

Jeremy and Paul trying to get the hook out of the fish.

My sweet little angels happily playing. It doesn't get any better than to see them having such a great time. It sure was a wonderful refresher for all of us.

Here is my baby, Priss. She's a swimmer! Here I was, laying in the sun. Trying to get a suntan. I told everyone all I wanted to do was lay on the beach and get a tan........

I am only posting this picture cause I catch hell cause there are never pictures of me and so you can see what a brilliant idea it was to lay in the sun.........I didn't know it yet in this picture but I got FRIED! I put sunscreen on the top of my body but not on my legs and stomach.........
Not. A. Very. Good. Idea.
I was in agony the last copy of days. Today I feel a little better. I tried vinegar and aloe. Nothing can take the burn out except sleeping with ice packs. As old as I am and as many times as I have gotten sunburned I surely should have known better! Ugh.
Have a very Happy 4th of July Everyone!

We ran away from home today.

We needed a pick me up play day before Jeremy's surgery. Paul and Zip came along and I brought Priss for her first trip to the lake. As soon as we parked the car and walked down to the water she came to the edge of the water and right in she went! It was so funny! On the way down the kids were talking about fishing so we stopped and bought them a fishing pole that they shared. We didn't even think they would sit still long enough to catch anything.
Not long after casting it here is Steele bringing one in!

Can you just see his proud face?! He even helped daddy gut it tonight.

And I really didn't think Sage would be patient! But she caught one too.

We have a surgery date!!!

This is the update I posted on our website last night.
www.JBCattleCo.com
6-30-09 Update-As many of you already know Jeremy has been in need of surgery due to a recurring dislocating shoulder. Two months ago it happened twice within three days. Being as we had horses in training already and we had to push on Paul and I started riding the colts with the owners permission. While I loved it and got to work with Jeremy daily and ride horses under him, it is just not my gig to be riding other people's colts. Not to mention trying to get that done with kids running around getting into trouble, well it was interesting to say the least. With Paul's help we had it running like a well oiled machine! He is truly a great friend and has agreed to stay and help us as long as we need him. He has been here since the miscarriage I suffered April 22nd. Jeremy was injured a week and a half after I came home from the hospital. And then again on May 3rd, just two days later. They know him by name at the ER now and I think they may even find it amusing to see him coming with no shirt on, a mangled arm obviously in the wrong place, chinks, hat and boots with spurs still on and usually drunker than Cooter Brown since we are so far from town and he needs something for the pain! He started riding outside horses again on June 1st, still in pain but we had to work to bring in money. Thankfully we now have a surgery date for him and we can feel like we are moving forward and get him healed up and back to work. Timing has worked out well with the last training horse he has here will leave on July 7th and his surgery is scheduled for July 9th. We have been scheduling lesson days in an effort to keep him off the streets and keep food on the table. I have gotten my resume together and am looking for work while he is healing. I figure if he is home with the kids he won't be able to get into too much trouble! Several people have encouraged him to write while he is recovering. I sure hope he does! Needless to say he will not be taking outside horses for quite some time. We will keep you all posted as to when he will open the book to limited horses again. Our main focus will be to keep him down and let it heal properly in the coming weeks. Wish me luck! Please.......
