Kissing the ground.

So I always have so much on my mind and certainly a million neat stories to tell. I just have no time to actually sit down and write it all.......
Jeremy has completed his first reatta that he made from one of our steers. He is in the driveway as we speak throwing it over and over again trying to get the feel of it. He is obsessed. Steele is into who knows what on the porch. I thought I should probably check on him awhile ago but I heard him yelling at a cat and figured I would leave well enough alone............Sage is in the bath and I should probably be in there washing her hair but here I am on my butt. I could just go up stairs in my warm, quiet bedroom and face plant on my bed...........I think I will get the kids in bed first cause I think there is some radar that if I am in my room they need something.......
The last few days have been chaos. Good, happy to be working but chaos none the less. I stayed the night down in Acton the other night so I could deliver some of our meat. It worked out great and I had a blast doing it but dragging around a 4 year old and remembering everything is sometimes tough. Sage stayed home with daddy riding. That little girlie is going to be one handy rider spending so much time riding with her dad. She has even turned down going to town with me several times so she could hang out with dad. She even did the dishes! Of course now we need dish soap but beggars can't be choosers!

Wind oh Wretched Wind......

Is that how you even spell wretched? hummmm anyway the wind has been blowing miserable for several days now. I was getting cabin fever and the kids were driving each other nutty so I packed Sage up and we headed to town to hang out. We started with lunch, just the two of us at Panera Bread. I had always wanted to check it out but never had the chance. It was a neat place for a healthy lunch and the cost was pretty reasonable too. It was so fun to just hang out with my girl. Then we headed over and enjoyed a pedicure. Of course that was wonderful! We got matching polish. I love that girl. We rounded off the day with a trip to our favorite antique store. I think we spent two hours in there! I found Jeremy a dutch oven pot so he can cook his fat after we butcher to use on his rawhide stuff. I found Steele a frog costume.........oh my gosh!!! You should see him in it! Hilarious!!! We are all snuggled in now watching our netflix movies........hoping the wind will blow itself out soon.

Chip off the ol block......

A couple of weeks ago we headed to Tehachapi via Oak Creek since the snow has melted and it was such a beautiful day. We had to get the usual gas, dog food, milk. It was nice to have Jeremy with us to run errands so we took our time and visited with friends. Turns out they had one of the wild babies in a pen. The filly had been left for one reason or the other. Not sure if the momma died or if she just got left behind but a stud had beat the tar out of her so they had to do catch her up and doctor her. I think they said they had the halter on her a couple of times before but were still working on getting her to walk forward and follow. My silly little girlie went to work and had her following in no time.........so darn cute. She about gave us all a heartattack with some of it though. We were all standing around visiting when we looked over and she has the rope around the filly's belly getting her ready for a cinch apperantley........
She was brushing her all over and started to go for her feet when we stopped her. Man, I tell ya....there is nothing like a kid to get a horse gentle.
